Zev Z365, S&W M&P15-22 Pistol, ROOSEVELTS REVOLVER – TGC News!

This week on TGC News, Zevtech mind melds with Sig, Smith & wesson has 2 new pistols and an award for influencers that you guys control!

Welcome back to another episode of TGC News, the only gun news show that covers things you actually care about, my name is Jon Patton.
Before we get into things today, I want to bring you guys up to date on the Barrett thing I announced last week. If you guys click the secret affiliate link in the description of this video 50,000 times total before Christmas, that’s december 25th, 2020 I’ll give away a Barrett 50BMG. As of today you have 11days and as of the filming of this video we are just under half way there. Get to it!
Let’s kick things off this week with some new pistols, shall we? First is the Z365 from Zevtech. Essentially this is a Sig Sauer P365 that has been dipped in Zevtech cladding. The main changes are the Zevtech Octane slide with optic cut, the Zevtech Pro barrel, Zev’s own fiber optic sights and a zev laser engraved stippling job. Other than that its got a standard trigger and comes with 2 10 round mags. The price for all that? 1199. Considering the regular 365 goes for about 500 bucks.. That means you’re paying about 700 for the upgrades. Now, if you went straight to zev, the slide and barrel alone are over 600 so its not that crazy of a bump and I suspect this type of thing is for a very specific customer. Gotta be honest, I kinda want one haha. I’m a bit bougie sometimes.
Also in new pistol news, Smith & wesson has 2 new ones from their M&P line up.
First up, the M&P 15-22 pistol, which is sort of a revamp of their old brace-less version, comes in 22 long rifle of course. It also has an 8 inch barrel, 25 round mags, MLOK handguard, and out back is the SBA3 brace. Really its a great compact package for the MSRP of 504 bucks. They also have a new 5.56 pistol with a 7.5 inch barrel, mlok handguard, blast diverter muzzle device, SBA3 brace, a flat face trigger which is rad, and the most interesting thing is that it comes with what is essentially a standard M&P pistol grip. It even has the interchangable backstraps. Its strange but I kinda love it. MSRP on that is 896. I’m curious to know what you guys think here. Is that Z365 something you would grab? Which of the M&P 15 pistols would you prefer with ammo being as silly as it is currently? Sound off in the comments and lets talk about it.
I also want to tell you guys about something a bit different this week. Its called the Gundie Awards and the basics are pretty simple. There are 15 different categories in which you can vote for your favorite influencers or creators. According to them This is about coming together to strengthen our community, no matter who your favorite influencer is. I’ll run through the categories and then explain my thoughts on it. You have breakout creator of the year, influencer of the year, most influential female and male of the year, and youtuber of the year. All of those fall under the Influence Categories. Tthen under the Content Creation Categories you have best crossover creator, best gun reviewer, most creative content of the year and most entertaining content of the year. After that, the fun categories include Best Outdoorsman, Best Gun Range or Shop, Best Shooter, Influencer Turned Entreprenuer, Most Innovative brand of the year and most likely to survive the apocalypse. I bet you’re already thinking of who you want to vote for in each of those. We are actually up for 2 categories this year, Influencer of the Year and YouTuber of the Year. However, I really want you guys to go vote for my fiance’, Genevieve, because shes actually up for 2 herself, Most Influential Female and Most Entertaining Content of the year. If you’ve seen her instagram reels you’ll know how good she is. I really would appreciate if you guys voted for her. Now, the way the voting works is actually pretty cool. You can vote once a day until December 31st. Each vote is actually an entry to win a specific prize for each category. So its fun for you guys to pick who you like the best and maybe win something AND its also really fun for us creators to see who makes it to the top. I’ll be sure to put a link to their website below so you guys can check it out.
We have a couple more things I want to share with you guys this week. Rock Island Auction recently sold one of the most interesting firearms to every cross their bench. It was Teddy Rosevelts Single Action Army Colt Revolver with factory engraving. How much did it sell for? A whopping 1.4 million dollars. An absolutely astonishing amount of money. If you ask me, this is something that would be a once in a lifetime thing to own and I think its really cool just to be able to see it. Theres actually a video of the sale on their channel if you want to see the excitement. My question to you guys, if you owned this, would you shoot it? I would!
And rounding us out is a tool that aims to take the load of your fingers when loading your mags. Its called the Bullet Blaster and its pretty simple. Its a 3D printed piece that you slide a finger or thumb into and using the protrusion to hold down the rounds in the mag whilst loading. For the price of 12.99 a piece, it doesn’t seem like a bad option if it works. However, in their own promo video you can see the thing hanging up and getting caught a bit while loading. Sure it might save your fingers but if it annoys you in the process, it may not be worth it. Not only that but this is not the only product like this ever made. I’ve seen one that is basically a thumb ring with a very similar core concept. I’ll let you guys tell me in the comments what you think of products like this.

Guntuber of the Week continues this week. If you don’t know, GunTuber of the Week is a segment where I share a gun related channel that by our standards, which are admittedly really high, puts out high quality, entertaining, informative content on a regular basis.
That being said, our GunTuber of the Week this time is 715 Tactical. Austins channel is young but very well put together. The B-roll he captures is some of my favorite and reminds me of channels with hundreds of thousands of subscribers. The presentations are straightforward and just good. Here’s a clip.
If you’re into that type of content, go find the link to his channel in the description and get subscribed. Be sure to tell him TGC sent you.

How Many Guns Did Americans Buy In November 2020? – The Fight For Gun Rights!

ITS TIME! WE DID IT AGAIN! GUYS WE ARE THE BEST EVER AT BUYING GUNS. WE ARE ABSOLUTELY BAR NONE THE BEST AT IT. The FBI background check numbers for November are in and we are gonna break them down, after … wait you know what this is going to be a short video, so instead of putting a promo here, just do me a favor and share this with some of your friends and family to let them know whats up. Whether you’re watching on our Facebook page, YouTube channel, Instagram page or even our website, theguncollective.com, just go ahead and share it with some folks. I want as many people as possible to see these numbers.

Welcome back to the gun collective, my name is Jon Patton and you are watching the fight for gun rights. Every month the FBI releases the number of background checks they performed and the November numbers are in. Before we go any farther, its important to note that these are not a 1 to 1 representation of gun sales because not every background check is for guns and some background checks are for multiple guns bought at the same time. Also some states don’t use this system. Now, we’ve been doing this for almost the entire year so let’s go ahead and recap shall we? In January, there were 2.7 million background checks. February had 2.8 million, March is where COVID panic buying started with 3.7 million, then April hit 2.9 mil, May 3.1, June, the highest in recorded history at 3.9 million, then July with 3.6 million, August 3.1, September 2.9 mil, October on the rise with 3.3 million and now, we are climbing back up with November coming in at a staggering 3.6 million background checks. ALL of these months, every single one of them is the highest for that month ever. Not only that but we are now at a yearly total of 35.7 million background checks. HOLY crap you guys. At this point, we have surpassed the 2019 year total by over 7 million.
Can I get a like on this video for the awesome charts our editor Izzy put together?
Now, as we do, its time to compare these numbers and give them some context. If we look at the monthly total for November 2020, assuming thats close to the number of guns sold, we could arm everyone in Dallas Texas, twice. We could arm everyone in Columbus ohio 4 times over. We could arm Baltimore 6 times over. We could arm everyone in the country of Estonia twice or We could arm everyone in Luxembourg 6 times.
If we look at the yearly total of 35.7 million, we could almost arm everyone in Morocco. We could definitely arm everyone in Saudi Arabia. We could arm Ecuador twice, everyone in Serbia 4 times with some left over or everyone in Croatia 8 times with some left over. No matter how you slice this pie, the numbers are incredible.
Now, the question that comes up the most on these videos is what does this mean for gun owners? Well its very hard to say with the looming threat of democratic control in the Government. What I do know is that ammo companies better turn up the heat and crank even harder so we can all keep shooting.
I want to know what you guys think of all this. Do these numbers really matter in the grand scheme? Will this help us at the polls next time around with so many new gun owners coming into the fold? Did you buy a new gun and become part of these numbers? Sound off in the comments below and lets talk about it.
And that is it for this video guys. ACTUAL Innovation! – AB Suppressor Raptor 8 – The Silencer Show!

Its not often that we actually see something innovative in the firearms industry. One of the sectors that does seem to be pushing boundaries for every little inch of performance though, is the suppressor industry. And today we’re going to be taking a look at one that comes at things in a new way that actually seems to put performance first. We’ll check it out, after this.
Welcome back to the gun collective, my name is Jon Patton. Today we are looking at the Raptor from a new company called AB Suppressor. As far as specs go, these are made from titanium, weighing in at 6.8 ounces for the 6 stack and 7.8 for the 8 stack. You see, the way they name their cans is based on the amount of baffles inside. They range from 2 all the way up to 10. We have the 6 and 8 on hand. Not only that but as you can see there are reflex sections which extend rearward from the muzzle for extra gas volume. This is supposed to help with sound as well as blowback. Every can comes with a flush mount AND a reflex section of your choice. For the MSRP of 975 for the Raptor 6 and 1035 for the Raptor 8, these are right on par or under par price wise with some of the best around. In terms of aesthetics, these cans look interesting. The design is clean but certainly not the typical look for a can. That is because the baffles are unlike any that I’ve seen on a suppressor to date. The man behind the company Brad Riley actually has a background in designing turbochargers for cars and machinery and he applied that technology and though process to managing the airflow in a suppressor. Hence the name, Aerocharger Ballistics or AB.
That being said, its time to shoot them and see if all this fancy stuff actually matters. First, we got our baseline with this Howa 1500 in 300 win mag sitting in an MDT chassis. You guys have seen this gun before on the channel. Pretty straight forward, its loud. I figured this one would benefit most from the 8 stack version.
The first shot really surprised me. The sound reduction was excellent and the tone was clean. Its hard to tell via video but this thing really impressed me right off the bat. I’ll shut up so you can hear more.
After a few shots with that set up, we decided to add one of the 3 inch reflex extensions to the backend. The takeaway from this shooting string was that it had great tone and wasn’t uncomfortable even when I removed my hearing protection. For reference, this was shot using 150 grain Remington core-lokt ammo. Times are tough and I wasn’t about to use my match ammo for a suppressor test.
Moving on from there, my 6.5 Creedmoor build was our test platform. This gun has a muzzle brake on it so our first shots without the can were definitely loud to the side of the gun. This time we decided to try out the smaller Raptor 6 and see how that handled the Creedmoor. Initial impressions were that it took all of that big dog bark from that muzzle brake and turned it into a weenie dog yip. Let’s shoot some more.
What you can see in this shots is a healthy amount of blowback coming out of the ejection port. The can was doing a great job with sound but as there’s not a ton of volume, this blowback makes some sense. To try and deal with that, we added the largest size reflex on the back end. They make these for both bull barrel and standard profiles as you saw in the opening.
As far as sound goes, we didn’t notice a marked difference in volume. We also didn’t really notice a huge difference in the amount of blowback. Maybe a slight reduction but its tough to quantify. Either way, this set up was a ton of fun to shoot with. A well suppressed 6.5 creed is my jam.
Moving on from there, we switched to our 300 blackout pistol set up that I refer to as Doo Doo Brown. I love this thing. Also, I apologize ahead of time for our supersonic ammo being spotty with reliability. Its some stuff I’ve had laying around for years and it did not perform well at all. Bare muzzle testing didn’t show us anything out of the ordinary. It’s loud. We expected that.
On this one, the goal was to make it silly quiet so we used the 8 stack version. The supers sounded decent for sure, but the subs, that’s the bees knees. Now dealing with subsonic ammo is not a challenge for a well made suppressor BUT it does reinforce the good tone and characteristics we liked even more. As we shot more, things started to become very clear. These things are REALLY good.
Let’s cover the things we like first. We liked the simple styling. We liked the fact that you don’t have to time the mount or anything like that. It works no matter the orientation. And we really like the performance that we experienced. Also, I didn’t talk about this much but these things are incredibly light weight. On a gun like our 300 blackout pistol, that is something that is a huge bonus because heavy cans on AR15 platform guns is not my favorite.
Things we didn’t like as much is a shorter list and is less about not liking stuff and more about asking why we need it. To me, the reflex extensions don’t do enough to need them. There may be an application where they make a lot of sense but to me they don’t seem to be needed. That means the can by itself is good to go. Beyond that, I think the company offering 5 different versions of the same suppressor is overkill. Most suppressor brands offer a long version and then a short version of a can, and not much in between because the difference in performance between them in negligible. For me, I want the quietest thing around. Second to that is pricing, which isn’t bad here and then comes the weight.
Obviously we don’t have a meter to test these on but like I’ve said in suppressor videos before, that doesn’t tell the whole story and therefore isn’t the definitive way for me to determine what I think about a can.
I’ll sum it up with this. The AB Suppressor Raptor series is flat out excellent. I’m really just impressed with them. Taking the concepts from the turbocharger products they’ve designed and applying them here makes a ton of sense. The value is there and I think as time goes on, they will continue to show us some more innovative new designs.
I want to know what you guys are thinking. What is your favorite 30 caliber can on the market? Sound off in the comments and let me know what you guys like and if you enjoyed this video hit the like button and please share it with your friends. If you want to see more gun news or gun reviews, be sure to get subscribed and as always, thank you all for watching. We’ll see you soon.

On this episode of The Silencer Show, Jon Patton and Genevieve Jones have fun with the Raptor from a new company called AB Suppressor.

3D Printed Silencer, New Guns, S&W GAINS BIG – TGC News!

This week on TGC News, Sig 3D prints a shusher, Kimber, CZ and Trigger Tech have new stuff and big blue showing HUGE growth!

Welcome back to another episode of TGC News, the only gun news show that covers things you actually care about, my name is Jon Patton.
Before we get cracking, I want to have some fun going into the holidays. If you guys click the secret affiliate link in the description of this video 50,000 times total before Christmas, that’s december 25th, 2020 I’ll give away a Barrett. And I don’t mean an AR, I mean a real deal big boy Barrett. That means you have 18 days. Get to it.
Now, how about some news? Sig Sauer has put themselves in a positive light after we talked about the Cross rifle recall last week with the MOD X9. What is it? A 3D printed suppressor. Not only that but its also modular, made of titanium and has one of the most unique exteriors I’ve seen on any silencer. I love to see more and more brands taking on different types of manufacturing to bring out super interesting products. According to Sig, there are 7 different ways to configure this can. Ranging from an overall length of 7.75 inches weighing just 8 ounces all the way down to 3.25 inches weighing 5 ounces and I suspect the heaviest portion of that is in the mounting system. Speaking of that they actually are including a standard half by 28 piston AND a 13.5×1 left hand piston. Most companies only include one so thats cool. As far as sound reduction goes, even though that number only tells part of the story, we’ll cover it for this one. According to their data, with a P226 using 147 grain ammo, the DB rating at the longest config is 127.4 and increases about 3-5DB with every baffle you remove until you get to the non-hearing safe 145.3 db. Now, this is definitely not the first modular suppressor on the market but it is certainly a cool take on things. It kind of reminds me a lot of the Erector from Q with some fancier designs on the outside. OR more accurately, the Dead Air Odessa 9 which only weighs 10.1 ounces and is only a quarter inch longer. Personally, I’m not sure I would have a lot of use for that amount of adjustment in a silencer. I’m more of an all or nothing kind of guy. MSRP is listed at 925. I want to know what you guys are thinking here. Do you like having this huge amount of flexibility in a suppressor? Do you care about suppressors to begin with? Sound off in the comments and lets have a conversation about it.

It’s time once again for some rapid fire news! We’ve got a bunch more to cover and not enough time to cover it so here we go. Triggertech, a brand known for super high quality drop in triggers has announced a few new variations of that concept for Pistol Caliber Carbines. They are now making them for the Sig MPX, the AR9 platform and the lesser used FX9 platform. Each of these has their own additions and tweaks designed specifically for the model it will live in. MSRP is 250 bucks for the adjustable and 225 for the fixed 3.5 pound option.
Also in new product news is a rifle from CZ USA called the 557 Eclipse. Basically this is a more affordable version of the 557. It comes in 308, 6.5 creedmoor or 30-06 with 20.5 inch barrels. Of those, the 6.5 creed version actually comes with a ⅝ by 24 threaded muzzle. The stock is a synthetic set up and yadda yadda the rest is pretty basic. Pricing lands at 659 MSRP.
Another new one is coming our way from Kimber. Its called the Rapide Black Ice and its part of the Micro 9 line up. The real key here is the styling that is also functional. Serrations on the slide, texture all around the grip, and some other trinkets like a flared magwell, extended mag, Truglo TFX Tritium fiber optic sights, and a DLC coated barrel. They barrel length is just a hair over 3 inches long and the extended mags hold 7 rounds. Pricing is 883 MSRP.

And its time once again for Gundustry News. First up, IWA Outdoor Classics, the european version of SHOT show has been canceled. The interesting part of that? The show is schedule for March of next year. This says a lot about how europe is feeling about Covid right now and could indicate things to come here in the US. Also in europe adjacent news, Zenith Firearms has announced that they are no longer going to be importing MKE firearms. The story is a bit more juicy than a normal split though. The press release on their website goes through all kinds of monetary troubles from lawsuits to walmart screwing them over to the Turkish government dealing with a coup. Its kinda crazy actually. All that to say they will be switching to US made firearms that they will be launching next year. No telling what they will end up being at this point. More roller locks is never a bad thing I guess.
And rounding out our industry news, the big blue, Smith & Wesson has released their second quarter 2021 earnings and boy oh boy its a whopper. Quarterly sales were 248.7 million dollars. Compare that to 2019 which during the same time was 113.7 million. A difference of 135 million or an increase of 118.7 percent! That is absolutely nuts.

Guntuber of the Week continues this week. For anyone new here, GunTuber of the Week is a segment where I share a gun related channel that by our standards, which are admittedly really high, puts out high quality, entertaining, informative content on a regular basis.
And speaking of that, our GunTuber of the Week this time is Work The Trigger. His channel is all about having a good time and learning along the way. He does reviews, as well as some competition shooting and aims to, get it, bring value to his viewers the entire time. Here’s a quick clip.
If you’re into that type of content, go find the link to his channel in the description and get subscribed. Be sure to tell him TGC sent you.

It’s time for more Friendly Fire, the segment where I answer questions from you guys! This time our questions are coming from the TGC facebook page.
Our first question is from Scott Strohmeyer and he says with shot being canceled, what are manufacturers doing to show off their products? To put it lightly, they are all scrambling to figure out what the best moves are for them. Smart ones will contact me and let TGC help them. Aubrey Wright says what is the best base level AR lower that you can’t go wrong with to start a build? That depends on your budget. On the cheap end, Anderson is there but might need a little massaging to get it right and then you move up to more expensive stuff like Aero precision and it sort of explodes from there. The options are plentiful. Scott Brendle says what are the chances of the supreme court overruling assault weapon bans? Well that would require the case to reach the supreme court and then the supreme court actually having the balls to hear the case. Its unlikely if you ask me. I don’t think SCOTUS has the balls to take gun cases these days. Chris Ramirez says how can new gun owners still get enough training if money is still an issue? Well you could look at online training from places like Warrior Poet Society Network. Theyve got a lot going on. And there are other options like dry fire systems such as LASR X or Mantis X but I’ll be clear on this. There is no replacement for firing rounds down range.
My friendly fire question to you guys this week, where did you acquire most of your gun knowledge? Was it online or from other people? Maybe at a gun club or something similar? Drop your thoughts in the comments below and If you want to ask a friendly fire question, jump over to the gun collective.com and send it our way!

After you click the like button, be sure to hit the secret affiliate link down in the description, that would be a massive help for us and of course don’t forget to get subscribed for more gun news every week and as always, thank you all for watching, we’ll see you soon!

ALIENS ARE COMING – TGC News!

This week on TGC News, Henry has 32 new guns, Sig screws up the cross, and the Laugo Alien is coming!

Welcome back to another episode of TGC News, the only gun news show that covers things you actually care about, my name is Jon Patton.
Before we get started, it’s cyber monday and there are lots of deals to be had if you go to our website which is linked below to check out our deal roundup post! If you end up buying stuff through our links, it helps support us and we would really appreciate it.
Now, how about some news? First up this week, RECALLS. I guess it was bound to happen with 2020 being the year of lunacy. Someone was gonna let some guns out the door that aren’t quite up to par. Our first one is from Smith & wesson and its actually on the M&P Shield EZ. According to the recall page on their website, it says “Smith & Wesson has identified two M&P Shield EZ Pistols on which the hammers manufactured by our supplier were cracked.” It goes on to say that there are 2 scenarios where multiple discharges can happen. Basically when you let the slide go home freely, it could set a round off and keep going or when firing like normal it could just keep going. Now, I dunno about you, but i would personally love to try one of these EZ guns in full auto BUT we haven’t had that happen with ours yet. The guns affected were manufacturered between March 1st and October 31st of this year. So basically all the covid guns. Since big tech is weird about links to guns, head over to our website to get the link where you can check if your gun is affected.

Also in recall news, everyone’s favorite recall company, Sig Sauer. It’s shocking to me that they still have this crap happen on nearly every single first generation gun they release. The p320, the 365 and now the Cross bolt action rifle. The recall page on their site says “stop using and unload your cross rifle immediately”… oh boy, this is going to be interesting. Digging deeper, the actual issue stems from the trigger not functioning correctly. According to the press release about it, Sig saw an online video about the issue, got the gun back and determined it was a legit problem and initiated the recall. The video was actually from one of the OG’s of gun videos, Nutnfancy. Now I know that his videos aren’t what you would call short so I’ll give you the highlight. Around 27 minutes into the video, the shooter reports that the gun was going off on the release of the trigger instead of the pull. Then about a minute later the shooter tries to pull the trigger multiple times with no discharge until he goes to rack a new round into the chamber. He moved the bolt slightly and the gun went off. THAT is freakin’ dangerous. I’ll make sure the video is linked for you guys to check out because you need to see it. Thanks to Nutnfancy for documenting the issue. I think the real shame here is that I was pumped about this rifle hitting the market. I’m curious to know what you guys think about recalls these days. Do you expect it from Sig? Or perhaps is it something you just expect from everyone sooner or later? Sound off in the comments and let me know your thoughts.

Next up this week, a TON of new guns from Henry Repeating Arms. There are 32 of them and because of that, I’m just gonna roll through the list of them and we’ll talk about some of them after.
First, the single shot line has been expanded to 350 legend and 450 bushmater chamberings. Thats cool. MSRP is 510 on those. Then we have the 200th anniversary gun which we actually already covered on the news a couple weeks back. Then theres the basic steel lever action with a side gate in 3030 for 941 or 955 with the big loop lever. Then theres the color case hardened versions in 3030 and 4570 with side gates and those are 1108 msrp. Theres also the steel wildlife version in the same chamberings and those goes for 1572. Quite a bump for some engraving. Then we circle back to the basic steel model with a large loop in 4570 and a side gate, that one is 941. Then we have the all weather 3030 and 4570 with a side gate for 1108. We also have the big boy steel with side gate in 44 mag, 45 colt or 357 with either a 16 or 20 inch barrel, prices are 941 and 955 depending on which if you want a large loop or not. Then the color case hardened versions of those guns for 1108 across the board. The 410 line has expanded and got side gates for loading as well and go for 983 with the 24 inch barrel or 941 for the 20 incher. And rounding us out, there is a new single shot 12 gauge slug gun. Okay highlights for me were of course the fact that everything seems to be getting a side gate. I also am very excited about the potential for suppressing these guns because now you don’t have to load through the tube and that means you can leave the can on. Its also cool to see Henry getting into the 350 legend and 450 bushmaster chamberings. All in all, lots of simple product additions and most of them have me pretty excited. Why don’t you guys tell me in the comments which one you would want to buy?

Now how about some gundustry news? Meprolight announced recently that they have sold their 14 millionth self illuminated day night sight. THAT is staggering. However, I suspect that is a worldwide number and not just based on US sales since it is an israeli company.
Ruger has announced that they have closed the acquisition of all of the Marlin assets. Ruger CEO Chris Killroy said that they have heard from tons of folks saying how excited they are for Ruger to acquire the Marlin brand and he also said they are looking forward to reintroducing the marlin guns in latter half of 2021. We have a time frame folks!
And somehow we missed this last one. Lancer Systems has announced that they got the all clear to import the Laugo Alien pistols. That means we might actually see some in the wild. The initial batch of 500 is already sold out. It came with a whole menagerie of gear and cost 5 grand. Nothing like a cool 2.5 million to get things going right? I’m really hoping that we get a chance to shoot one of these things again because our taste at SHOT wasn’t enough to truly weigh in on it. Either way, lots of positive industry news this week which is great.

Guntuber of the Week continues this week. For anyone new here, GunTuber of the Week is a segment where I share a gun related channel that by our standards, which are admittedly really high, puts out high quality, entertaining, informative content on a regular basis.
And speaking of that, our GunTuber of the Week this time is The Humble Marksman. David’s channel is exactly what the title suggests. Its all about finding accuracy and proficiency with firearms. David comes at it largely from a competition angle but also provides some much needed good technical data with experience to back it up. Not only that but hes just a good dude. Here’s a quick clip.
If you’re into that type of content, go find the link to his channel in the description and get subscribed. Be sure to tell him TGC sent you.

It’s time for more Friendly Fire, the segment where I answer questions from you guys! This time our questions are coming from the TGC Nation facebook group. Go join it because thats where awesome happens.
Our first question is from Seth Shockey and he says are calibers like 350 legend and 450 bushmaster here to stay? Kind of fitting with the henry’s we just talked about. It seems like both of those cartridges are slowly growing in popularity, especially in areas where straight wall cartridges are needed for hunting. I’m still waiting for winchester to get their shit together and release subsonic 350 legend like they said at launch. Michael Wise says do you think its smart to have a firearm in an obscure calibder for times like these when popular ammo is out of stock? Yes and no. If you can afford to buy another gun and the ammo for it which is likely more expensive than popular stuff, then you can probably afford to stockpile an appropriate amount for the popular chamberings. At the same time, variety is awesome.
Kevin Marshall says why do people cling to politicians to save their rights when both sides openly attack all of our rights? Good question Kevin. I think the answer is simple and very very complex at the same time. The simple version is because its easier to shift the responsibility to someone else. The more complex version involves understanding deep seeded human behavior and most people revolve their entire lives around some level of fear or anxiety. Thats a topic for another day. And this last one is a fun one. Jay Mattos says what products do you use for beard care? You know when I started growing this glorious beard I never knew how much work it would be. I will say this, I am not currently loyal to one specific brand. I use a beard wash, sometimes a beard detangler because this gets out of hand, and I also use beard balm, beard butter and beard oils. I’m always trying new and different stuff. As far as brands go. I like beardbrand, beard octane, michigan man soap and shea moisture. Hope that helps.

HOW MANY GUNS EXIST IN THE U.S.A.? – The Fight For Gun Rights!

You know, there is a ton of speculation about how many guns actually exist in the United States. Back in the day, guns didn’t have to have a serial number… then once that changed, the records weren’t necessarily kept in a way that was simple to track nationwide… but I promise you there are A LOT of guns. I’d be willing to bet that there might even be more guns than people. If only someone took the time to gather up info about how many guns were produced and put them out publicly… oh wait, that did happen. The NSSF recently published a highlight list from some data they’ve collected and we are gonna wade through it, after this.
Welcome back to the gun collective, my name is Jon Patton and you are watching the fight for gun rights. The national shooting sports foundation or NSSF has done a lot for the gun industry over the years and things like this report are a wonderful way to allow me to share that with the world.
For context, this report compiles the most up to date info from the ATF and ITC. I’m just gonna be throwing out facts for you to soak up. The info takes time to compile so some of the stats don’t show exactly what’s going on but we can extrapolate. Ok let’s go.
In 2018, 11.4 million total firearms were produced or imported in the US. This does not include the exported guns. What’s hilarious about that is based on what we know about 2020 sales of guns, we’ve sold that number about 3 times over. We did a video on that if you want to learn more.
Also in 2018, 48 percent, nearly half, of all rifles produced or imported, were “modern sporting rifles” or as I like to call them, AR15’s. Now consider that things have ramped up even more. THAT is a shitload of AR’s.
Since the year 1990, there are an estimated 19.8, almost 20 million AR’s in circulation. For reference, that is enough to give everyone in Kansas City Missouri almost 40 rifles each.
If we are talking about 2019, well the current estimate, which is being updated is that 6 million guns were produced in the US, that doesn’t include imported guns which is a lot, and roughly 3.6 million of those were handguns while 480 thousand were shotguns and nearly 2 million were rifles.
If we look at the estimated imported guns in 2019, that comes to about 3.3 million, of which, 2.3 million were handguns. THAT IS BONKERS. About 301 thousand were rifles and 678 thousand were shotguns.
From 1991 to 2019, nearly 214 MILLION guns have been made available to the US market. For reference, there are an estimated 330 million people in the US. If my math is correct, that is enough guns to arm almost every adult in the US right now. And remember thats only between 1991 and 2019, the ATF reports indicate that there are about 434 million guns in civilian possession here in the US. WE CAN ARM THE KIDS TOO! HAHAHA. Or we could arm my immediate family over with over 72 million guns each!
Now if we break things down in a slightly different way, there are approximately 71.2 million pistol mags capable of holding more than 10 rounds and about 79.2 million capable of holding more than 30 rounds. Was that a bald eagle I just heard? How can my heart contain so much freedom without bursting? Also shoutout to all the people in ban states that can’t have standard capacity magazines.
To round us out, firearm and ammunition manufacturing account for about 12000 employees producing over 3.9 billion dollars in goods shipped and approximately 8.7 billion rounds of ammo were produced… in 2018. That was 2 years ago. You know what, lets have some fun here. What caliber or gauge do you think represents the largest chunk of that ammo and how much revenue do you think was generated so far in 2020’s epic year for the gun industry?
My heart says 9mm was a lot of it, but 22 long rifle is substantial in numbers too. And I’m betting double digit billions this year. I want to know your thoughts down in the comment section.
And guys, that is it for this video. DID ATF SAY WE’RE ALL FELONS? Pistol Braces ATTACKED… AGAIN – The Fight For Gun Rights!

OH BOY. ATF, once again, for The Who knows how many times, is at it, again. Did I mention they do this crap a lot? In a recent criminal determination letter ATF made some pretty bold claims about the SB Tactical braces and how they are, according to ATF, knowingly selling something that wasn’t approved and therefore turning millions into criminals. The problem with that? I’m not sure its true. We’re going to break it all down, after this.

Welcome back to the gun collective, my name is Jon Patton and you are watching the fight for gun rights. I know there are a ton of people freaking out about this in a bunch of different ways so I’m going to try to come at it as level headed as possible for you guys. Sure we want to get clicks on our content, but we are not out to say the sky is falling. That being said, let’s wade through this and see if we can come to a reasonable conclusion shall we?

In a recent article on Ammoland.com, thanks to a FOIA or freedom of information act request, a 2018 letter from ATF to SB Tactical was shared. Let’s start there. That letter says that certain products currently marketed and sold by SB Tactical have not been evaluated or approved by ATF and that SB Tactical was marketing all of their braces as evaluated and approved although in most cases no evaluations or classification have ever occurred. They then showed a couple images from the boxes of SB Tactical products that said ATF Compliant and ATF has review this product and blah blah blah.

So it seems this is really a complaint about marketing and not an official determination.
The letter goes on to say ATF has only evaluated 2 SB Tactical submissions and that they were both approved as stabilizing braces and classified them as not designed or intended to be used as shouldering devices. They then went on to say that 23 different braces were not submitted nor approved by ATF and that SB Tactical must cease false advertisement etc etc.

So all that to say that ATF didn’t like that the marketing being used. Not only that but adding to the confusion is the fact that ATF did in fact evaluate at least a couple of the braces listed and cited they were not in fact illegal in a criminal determination from 2017. For what its worth, my understanding is that criminal determination letters are intended to provide a given prosecutor with an answer on whether or not a given product is legal or illegal.

Also in this letter is a line that says ATF does not approve stabilizing braces which are similar or based off shoulder stock designs. Thats hilarious because literally every single brace could be argued as similar or based off the design but one is a stock and one is a brace. Including the ones that ATF has already approved at this point.

Look at the MPX PSB vs the MPX stock for example. The only difference is the brace.
In regards to the first claim, I spoke with SB Tactical about this and I’m told that they changed their marketing at least a couple times now to deal with accusations like this from the ATF. So basically we land at ATF says hey you shouldn’t be saying this, SB Tactical says okay sure and changes things, and then we go about our lives. Again, this was back in 2018.

Fast forward to 2020, the year of lunacy, and the plot thickens. In a different criminal determination letter involving a suspected short barreled shotgun, the ATF decided to paint a very interesting picture. Skipping the introductory fluff, on page 4 ATF states that the SBA3 has been previously and repetitively determined to be a shouldering device and not a stabilizing brace. HOLY SHIT thats news to me. You would think that a product that has been on the market for over 2 years with that type of determination would have had some issues along the way, right?
On the next page things get a little more spicy. They reference the original 2018 letter stating that they don’t approve braces that are similar or based off of shoulder stock designs. Except they did that already so thats a straight up lie.

They go on to say Since the date of this notification, SB Tactical has continued to market these accessories as ATF compliant pistol stabilizing braces. Although ATF has made a consistent effort to inform SB Tactical that they are perpetuating a false narrative regarding these accessories they market, SB Tactical has taken the position that ATD has no authority to regular an accessory manufacturer. So they aren’t allowed to think that? I mean, ATF is a complete waste of tax payer dollars so I mean, if that is what they think, I would go ahead and agree with them on that. I didn’t realize that opinions were a crime in this country. They continued with This has essentially left SB Tactical business partners in the position where they are unknowingly manufacturing and marketing unregistered NFA firearms. HOLY SHIT AGAIN. I have to comment here.

Hey ATF, if they’ve been doing this for years, and you claim that they have been, why haven’t you done anything about it? If there are supposedly a substantial number of unregistered NFA firearms out there, where the heck have you been when it comes to enforcing the law? Is it because that is a straight up lie again? I mean, wouldn’t it be prudent to do your job if such a substantial issue was present? Not only that but where are the hundreds of cease and desist letters telling retailers and manufacturers to stop selling this supposed product that when included makes an unregistered NFA firearm? Why is this just now coming to light in a criminal determination letter? Is it because this is total BS? Hmmm?

They kept going. In February of 2019, SB Tactical was made aware, through outside sources, that ATF determined in a criminal examination that the SBA3 accessory is a shouldering device and not a stabilizing brace. Well actually that particular case involved a modified brace that had a magazine shoved into the middle of it and was only a determination about that individual case and not the product as a whole but sure, continue spreading lies. ATF then stated that although SB Tactical is aware of this determination, is has continued to attempt to flood the market with the SBA3 accessory, misleading its business partners that the attachment of the accessory will not change the classification of a firearm. Again, where’s the determination letter specific to this product? According to SB Tactical, they have been waiting over 2 years for a final determination letter and have yet to receive one.

Let’s rewind a second, they said that SB was made aware though outside sources. If this determination was made, why is ATF not notifying the manufacturer of such a big issue? Not only that but I have to reiterate, if this has been happening for 2 years, why has ATF made no issue to put a stop to it? The fact that they are putting blame on SB Tactical for something like that seems to be a straight up attack on the company. Not only that but this is all predicated on what the ATF says being true, and at this point I’m confident that its just not.

It seems to me that the ATF has taken it upon themselves to make baseless claims about a manufacturer in a letter intended to assist in a criminal case which is entirely inappropriate behavior and falls right in line with their consistent rogue behavior we’ve covered before. As far as I’m concerned this is harassment of SB Tactical, the gun industry AND the American gun owner as a whole at this point. Waving this arbitrary wand around claiming things are illegal and have been for years without concern for the repercussions of such statements is dangerous and quite frankly a load of horse shit.

I want to know what you guys are thinking here. Was ATF acting correctly? Did I get this wrong? Is the ATF out to get gun owners or SB Tactical? Sound off in the comments below and let’s talk about it. I’m really curious to know whats on your mind about this.

NEW CZ TS2, SIG GUN BUILDER, GEISSELE APOLOGY – TGC News!

This week on TGC News, Sig has a custom P320 builder, CZ has a new 75 Tactical Sport 2, and LOTS MORE!

Welcome back to another episode of TGC News, the only gun news show that covers things you actually care about, my name is Jon Patton.
We have a mountain of stuff to cover this week so izzy, if you would, please accelerate the barrels that contain the things that equal to ammunition expenditure.

That’s right its rapid fire time. Sig Sauer has officially made me sit back in my chair and say damn, why isn’t everyone doing this? With their new custom works P320 Studio. It’s all based around the FCU or fire control unit which you can now buy as a separate thing without a full firearm. The basic idea with this studio is to be able to set up a completely custom gun, the way you would want it, using sigs parts. You can change the grip module, slide, barrel, recoil assembly, mags and optics. Car manufacturers and aftermarket companies have been doing this for years. I mean heck, this is basically what gunstruction has been doing for years too but to see this integrated into a major manufacturers website is fantastic. GUN INDUSTRY, LISTEN UP, THIS IS WHAT PEOPLE WANT. Make it easy for people to buy cool stuff and see what it would look like on their gun. Links for this and everything else we talk about today will be over on TheGunCollective.com if you guys want to check it out!

And speaking on the 320, a company I had never heard of called Trinity Nevada has released an extra fancy slide for that gun. Its called the Pirho, and quite frankly it looks fantastic. The main claim to fame here is the integrated compensator. I’ve seen this done before on guns from Agency and Zev, but this is a different approach. Essentially the compensator is actually part of the barrel and slide assembly at the same time. Because of that, you don’t have to get a different holster to accommodate a longer set up like you might with an added comp. The amount of cuts in this slide is bonkers but so is the price. Even though this is a complete unit with Dawson sights, titanium nitride barrel, and all those cuts, the price hurts. It lands at 1645 bucks. Yup, Moving on!

CZ has released a new one. Now, this isn’t from the US side of things so we may not see it stateside for a bit but its rad so we’re covering it. It’s called the TS2 or tactical sport 2. They are designed to be the IPSC gun of choice and have been updated over the older Tactical Sport line in almost every way. New frame, new geometry, etc etc. I’m not going to get into it all because there’s a lot. Its going to come in 3 different finishes, the standard with silver grips, then the deep bronze set up and the racing green version. I think I’d go for the green boi. How about you guys? Also, pricing wasn’t available anywhere for these things but the old TS model was about a hair over 1800 bucks. Geissele announced recently that they were jumping into the magazine game. They also stepped in it a bit at the same time. Originally they painted the picture that they were specific to the Geissele brand and that they were something special and they had them priced at about 22 dollars a piece. That is until instagram user From The Gun Counter, pointed out that they had the same cage code on them as the ultra cheap D&H magazines which normally go for 8-12 dollars. Ouch. Double pricing for the Geissele name? Not cool, BUT not long after that they changed their messaging and publicly apologized for the error and the high price. They even refunded the difference in pricing which was lowered to 13 bucks to those that bought at the higher price. I think the most interesting part is that this really puts a lot of weight on the D&H magazines capabilities because if Geissele felt comfortable putting their name on it, its very unlikely that they suck.

And now its time for.. Wait, we’re already doing rapid fire… how does this work? Can we put a rapid fire on top of a rapid fire? Is that legal? I don’t care lets do it. Industry News Double Time Rapid Fire style here we go. Saami or the Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers Institute has accepted 3 new cartridges. They include the 277 Sig Fury, which I’m sure most of you have heard of but seems to be vaporware at this point. Then the 6.5 weatherby rebated precision magnum or RPM. This one seems to be weatherby’s version of the 6.5 PRC. It slings 6.5 diameter 140 grain bullet at just over 3000 feet per second from a 24 inch barrel. Then theres also the 6.8 Western which is developed by Olin, the company that owns winchester. This one is slinging a 175 grain bullet at about 2800 feet per second out of a 24 inch barrel. Based on the dimensions this is way beefier than the 6.8 SPC so i suspect its meant for bolt guns and similar. We shall see if they end up doing anything with it.

Next up, Riton optics has expanded into a new facility. The new place is located in Tucson Arizona and they say this is due to the big demand they have for their stuff. Great to see more companies growing enough for that.

The NRA has settled a lawsuit with New York state for the sum of 2.5 million dollars. They were sued by the state for “soliciting and marketing the sale of insurance products” under their carry guard program. They’re also banned from selling insurance in the state for 5 years. As we’ve said before, the NRA is a mess and this is only part of their problems.

And rounding out our industry news, the NRL or National Rifle League has started a new series and it’s a really cool idea. Its called the NRL Hunter and the basic idea is to bridge the gap between hunters and their gear. According to the press release, these matches will be geared towards practical hunting applications and designed to test all aspects of the competitors gear and skills. All in all, stuff that gets people out shooting and using their gear is a great thing.
We’ve covered so much today guys, I want to know, what story mattered the most to you and what do you guys think of all of this stuff? Let me know down in the comments and we’ll talk about it.

Guntuber of the Week returned last week and since you guys gave me so many great channels to check out, we’re hitting another one this week. For anyone new here, GunTuber of the Week is a segment where I share a gun related channel that by our standards, which are admittedly really high, puts out high quality, entertaining, informative content on a regular basis.
And speaking of that, our GunTuber of the Week this time is Armed Scholar. His channel is dedicated to not just california gun law issues but also nationwide gun issues. Not only that but he is a practicing attorney so there is some level of credibility that comes with that. The production values are solid and the presentation is clean. Here’s a quick clip.
If you’re into that type of content, go find the link to his channel in the description and get subscribed. Be sure to tell him TGC sent you.

And a couple things I wanted to add in to our shows on a regular basis. Whenever I appear on someone’s podcast or videos, I’d like to share that with you guys so we can connect more and maybe you guys can tune into content that you might enjoy! That being said, I was on the Harvesting Nature podcast and had a great time reminiscing and talking about my limited hunting experiences. I’ll put a link to their website below.

And speaking of websites, I just want to say thank you to everyone that jumped on our brand new website and sent messages. You guys are fantastic and I’d love it if you checked back on a regular basis. Our deals section gets updated all the time and so does our content.

AMMO BAN + PA GESTAPO – The Fight For Gun Rights!

Sometimes I genuinely fear that people in power are going to slowly turn our nation into some sort of communist/socialist dystopia. The slide in power towards that end of the spectrum seems to accelerate with every proposed law. More money for the government, more oversight and control over our day to day lives and according to this new proposed bill here in Pennsylvania… control over a militia that operates outside of law enforcement guidelines and a hidden ammunition ban included in the bill. We’ll break it down, after this.
Welcome back to the gun collective, my name is Jon Patton and the fight for gun rights continues. PA state representative, Christopher Rabb, a democrat out of Philadelphia recently brought forth one of the scariest proposed bills I’ve seen in a while. PA House Bill 2957 in short terms, creates a police force controlled by the governor under the guise of being called a militia. First I’ll read through the memo that explains the bills intent and then we’ll try and digest things.
It says The Constitution of the United States requires under the Second Amendment: “A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” No big deal so far right?
Our commonwealth deserves its own well-regulated militia to address the epidemic of gun violence, domestic terrorism, and other inter-related public health crises. AAAAnd there you have it. It didn’t take long to get to the truth.
After the enactment of a federal law in 1940, Pennsylvania was among one of several states that established a regulated, trained and funded militia.
This state defense force — the Pennsylvania State Guard — operated from 1941 to 1953 that protected Pennsylvanians while honoring our state constitution which in Article I, Section 21 clearly states: “The right of the citizens to bear arms in defense of themselves and the State shall not be questioned.”
Now, more than ever, the Commonwealth should revive and modernize its state defense force toward complementing law enforcement agencies to improve public safety in these uncertain times. I want to reiterate that the focus on gun control as a public health crisis is terrifying and that the creation of yet another government controlled entity is being sought here.
If enacted into law, this force would provide voluntary firearms training for people not interested in applying for military-grade firearms. Further, this training would be mandatory for those members who did seek to own such firearms.
APPLYING FOR MILITARY GRADE FIREARMS? Since fucking when we do we have to apply to exercise our second amendment rights?
This defense force would answer to the Governor and oversight commission who, based on federal law, cannot call them up for regular military service, but can use them in emergency response in-state. To me this screams Tom Wolf’s personal gestapo.

This reconstituted body would help protect public safety while balancing Second Amendment interests. Benefits of joining this body could include:
Before we cover these benefits I’d like to point out that my second amendment interest is that you leave it and me the fuck alone.
Benefits of joining this body could include:
• Student debt relief
• Tuition assistance
• Financial assistance for first-time home buyers
• Merit points on civil service tests
Yes, that is the list of free stuff that the government will give you if you enlist.
Law enforcement officers are out-gunned, too over-burdened, under-compensated and under-trained to properly address the ever-expanding array of duties they’ve had to take on in recent years. SO rather than give police better training, more funding and more firearms to combat the issues at hand, this bill suggests that it would be better to create a state militia that operates outside of the law. Notice that nowhere in this have they mentioned the standards by which this group will operate.
By recruiting and empowering our state’s breadth of talented souls, this overhauled defense force could train thousands of social workers, nurses, veterans, civil servants, college students and other private citizens to help mitigate the most pressing and costly concerns that currently represent some of our state’s top budget expenditures.
Ahhh there it is, they think you’ll do this for free.
Too many lives have been lost to inertia. Our Commonwealth suffers from a community safety crisis whose symptoms degrade public health outcomes across the state.
It is our moral and constitutional responsibility to address a health crisis that is manifested in all manner of public and private life, including mass shootings, daily gunfire in city streets, domestic murder, and suicides in every corner of the state. Indeed, we, as state lawmakers, have a moral obligation to act.

Okay, so to recap this as I see it. This state militia will answer to the governor of PA, who already has it out for people that disagree with him and will be used to combat things without the use of law enforcement. No I don’t see how that could go wrong at all. I also love the fact that the bill suggests that ANY of this would fall into things that help the second amendment. You keep using those words, and I don’t think you know what they mean.

Legislation like this makes me nervous. Not only would it be entirely dangerous if passed BUT it also moves the goal posts for craziness. I’ll try to explain. Remember before Beto O Rourke said hell yea we’re coming to take your guns. It was all a secret, hush hush type thing. They ALWAYS said, no one is coming to take your guns. EXCEPT now, that statement and his actions alone have changed the way people think. It has changed what is acceptable to say as a politician and say about gun rights as a whole and therefore the next crazy thing that gets said, won’t sound as crazy by comparison. The same could be said about creating a government controlled, unregulated “police” force that doesn’t have to abide by the same rules as the police.

DANGER WILL ROBINSON DANGER. This whole thing is just poisoning the well and it seems to be intentional.

This is all without reading the bill itself which is even more upsetting. Section one of the bill reveals the real intent behind all of this garbage. It states “The sale or transfer of high-power firearm ammunition shall be restricted to active members of the
PennCorps who have firearm licenses.” So you can’t have this arbitrary thing called high power ammunition unless you join the PA gestapo. It goes on to say if you have the ammo already you can keep it, but you can’t sell or transfer it to anyone that isnt a penncorp member. AND you can’t buy more ammo. If you got caught selling or transferring ammo to someone that ISNT a penncorp member, you could be subject to a misdemeanor of the first degree which if I’m not mistaken would also prohibit you from owning firearms on a federal level.
The definition they provide for high power ammunition is… well here.
“high-power firearm ammunition” shall mean the following types of ammunition:
(1) Ammunition constructed entirely from one or a
combination of tungsten alloys, steel, iron, brass, bronze,
beryllium copper or depleted uranium.
(2) A full-jacketed projectile larger than .22 caliber
and whose jacket has a weight of more than 25% of the total
weight of the projectile.
(3) Ammunition that is .50 caliber or greater.
(4) Flechette ammunition.
(5) Ammunition that contains exothermic pyrophoric mesh
metal as a projectile and is designed for the sole purpose of
throwing or spewing a flame or fireball to simulate a
flamethrower.
(6) Bolo shells.
(7) Hollow Nose, Dum-Dum or other ammunition designed to
expand upon impact.

And there you have it. That is a blend of the wording from armor piercing ammo bans AND a straight up ban on hollow point ammo. It’s like New Jersey is rubbing off on PA and I don’t like it one bit.

I want to know what you guys think about things like this. Am I missing something? Is this actually a good thing? Guntuber of the week
– https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChJP9CkQnCodWR9ZXwE8IdA

This week on TGC News, a pistol that comes from copied homework, bolt action rifles galore and Vista outdoor has a one billion dollar backlog!

Welcome back to another episode of TGC News, the only gun news show that covers things you actually care about, my name is Jon Patton.
Before we get into stuff today, I’d like to ask for your help. After YEARS of it being out of date, we rebuilt the TGC website and have a new home base for our content, as well as the deals we post and ways to stay in touch with us. That being said, I want you guys to battle test it. If you see any issues, please send us a message through the website and report them so we can improve it and make it as good as possible. Big shoutout to Make Ready Arms for helping us build the new site.

Now, how about some news? First up this week is one that comes from Turkey. Politics aside, these guys are like the chinese when it comes to copying other people’s homework and blending them into a new product. It’s kind of amazing. That brings us to the SAR 9X Platinum from Sarsilmaz. This gun has actually been out for a while but I’m just now hearing about it so its a brand new thing for us. It looks like a someone drew the gun based on a conversation they overheard about a VP9, Glock and Canik. The grip is VERY similar looking to the HK VP9, the slide has a shape similar to glocks, albeit with a bunch of cuts taken out and the controls remind me of the Canik. In terms of dimensions, you have a 4.4 inch barrel, 15 round standard and 17 round extendo mags, and it weighs about the same as every other gun in this segment. I guess the standout thing about this gun is that platinum color which is of course coated on the slide but embedded in the polymer of the grip. I like it a lot actually. It also comes with a bunch of cheap trinkets like a light, holster and a mag ouch. The MSRP lands at 555 and I’ve seen these on sale for around 500. For that kind of money though, is this thing offering anything you can’t get on the market? I’m not so sure. I’m curious to know what you guys are thinking though. Would you grab one of these over the other options in this part of the market? Sound off in the comments… and we’ll talk about it.
Do you hear that? It sounds oddly specific… like an electric motor spinning multiple barrels….. OHHHH thats because its rapid fire time!

Let’s kick it off with an expensive one. We covered an 8 thousand dollar gun from this company last week so by comparison, this one is cheap! Its called the Sauer 101 Highland XTC and the claim to fame here is that its lightweight. The stock is hand laid carbon fiber, theres fluting where possible and that means its light. How light? 5.5 pounds. THAT is pretty impressive. BUT you pay for it. MSRP on the highland lands at 3000 bucks.
Moving along, Savage has a new series of rifles out called the Backcountry Xtreme series. There are 6 different models all based on the Savage 110 and all aimed at being the top tier of their class. To keep this short, they have the set up needed for each individual purpose. The models include the 110 bear hunter, 110 ridge warrior, 110 Timberline, 110 high country, 110 ultralite and 110 ultralite camo. I’m sure you guys can figure out what they are like based on the name alone. Price range from 949 for the ridge warrior up to 1549 for the ultralite camo. Being that the 110 is proven action, this seems to be an affordable alternative to guns like the previous one we featured. The ultralight camo is about half the price and weighs only .3 pounds more.

Also in new gun news, Weatherby has added the 6.5 PRC cartridge to the vanguard line up. It was a light news week so I’m going to talk about this. To me, the 6.5 PRC is getting chambered in a lot of guns but I’m not really hearing about a lot of folks buying or using that cartridge. I still need to get behind one and see what its like. Not only that but theyve also announced a new version of their Element semi auto shotgun called the tungsten and … its coated in a tungsten paintjob. YAY haha. These shotguns are decent for the money for sure. Pricing for the rifle is 619 while the shotgun is 599.
And because I had nowhere else to put it, Federal has expanded their Prairie Storm ammo line up to include 16 and 28 guage for people like that like a challenge. Personally I love the prairie storm ammo so thats cool to me.

How about a little Gundustry news? That sounds tasty right now.
Real Avid, a company we feature on a semi regular basis with interesting accessories is doing whats called a Recapitalization and partnerting with a holding company that specializes in outdoor brands called vertikal brands. That holding company is being run by former executives from Battenfeld technologies. Basically the intent is to strengthen the finances of the brand for the future. My guess is that they might be prepping to sell the company but time will tell on that one.

Also in industry news, the price of ammo is unlikely to drop for a very long time. I know this because Vista Outdoor CEO Chris Metz told Fox Business that they have a backlog for over a year and worth over a billion dollars. Boys and girls that is one company, granted a massive company, stating that their backlog is over a year and worth over a billion dollars. I’m curious to know what you guys think that will do to ammo pricing for the forseeable future. It looks like we are in for an expensive ride.

And speaking of that, our GunTuber of the Week this time is Reno May. His channel focuses heavily on gun politics and is really well presented with a bit of colorful language sprinkled on. Let’s see a clip.
If you guys want to, and I think you should, go find the link to his channel in the description and get subscribed. Be sure to tell him TGC sent you.

It’s time for more Friendly Fire, the segment where I answer questions from you guys! This time our questions are coming from our loyal subscribestar supporters. Will Moonan says an optic per rifle or one piece of glass to rule them all? My personal stance is that if you can afford it, get glass for every rifle. Swapping stuff around and having to re-zero isn’t fun when ammo costs this much. Plus scopes just keep getting better and better.
22 cheapster says dedicated caliber or multi caliber platform? I guess thats similar to the last thing. Being able to swap stuff around is nice. BUT I personally like having more complete guns rather than stuff to swap.
Guardian1473 says what are ammo and gun manufacturers doing to cure the horrendous backlog after the election? Well the backlog started back in march. Let’s be real about that. I’m confident that every company out there is running full tilt, adding staff and machinery where possible and trying to find new supply lines where possible but with so many companies fighting for the same stuff, its just going to take time.
My friendly fire question to you guys this week, how will this ammo shortage affect your shooting habits and what will you do to combat those changes? Drop your thoughts in the comments below and If you want to ask a friendly fire question, jump over to Subscribestar and support us directly on there!

After you click the like button, be sure to hit the secret affiliate link down in the description, that would be a massive help for us and of course don’t forget to get subscribed for more gun news every week and as always, thank you all for watching, we’ll see you soon!
